Placing the first stone for the campus
Three teachers from Groenhorst vocational College are visiting a couple of projects in Ethopia. This is possible thanks to the Food&Animal4All project. Before they go home they have an role to play in the future of the project.
See for their encounters ‘Three teachers visit Ethiopia’ and ‘Visit to the (women's) projects around Afar’.
The Aeres Group is going to built a student campus near the compound of local partner ‘Passion Connects Ethiopia’ (PCE). It is intended to be finished in 2011. The campus will accommodate both Ethiopian and Dutch students, trainees and farmers who want to follow vocational education or skill courses.
Hans Eijkelkamp, Ronald Slot en Cor Boorsma place the first stone of the new campus. They selected it with a lot of care.
After placing the stone they went away for the weekend to visit the projects around Afar. On their way back to the site they find that there is a lot of building activity on the compound. People are working very hard: the work on the foundation is almost finished.
This is the end of the team's visit. The last pictures are taken from the building work and standing before the Vocational Training Center van PCE. The Groenhorst colleagues have plans to create teaching cards for the Afar women’s Group who are involved in the establishment of vegetable gardens and the fostering of cattle (camels and goats).
